CFWACK7 And Amazon.com

Lots of you have been writing to ask about the new Macromedia ColdFusion MX 7 Web Application Construction Kit which is already shipping, and which Amazon.com still shows as “yet been released”. Amazon has confirmed that they do indeed have the book and they are looking into why the availability status is incorrect. In the meantime, folks have ordered the book directly from Peachpit and have already received their copies.

I ordered from Amazon and received mine last week (I think it was last Thursday…but not sure) so they are shipping. I don’t think they have received enough to cover their pre-orders yet though as my friend still hasn’t received his.

And a great book it is too (got mine from Peachpit also).
Does Ray know that many of his code samples have his email address as ray@camdenfamilyc.om and not ray@camdenfamily.com?
Also there are quite a few code samples by Nate Weiss but know ackowledgement which is a shame.

I cancelled my Amazon order and ordered it from Peachpit second day for just a few dollars more. In addition you get a coupon for 35% off your next order (which of course will be the Advanced WACK)

I ordered from Amazon and I’m still waiting. The status show me the book has not yet shipped 🙁
I’ll wait for 2 days and then go to Peachpit site !!!

Peter, I do indeed acknowledge Nate’s contributions in my acknowledgements at the front of the book.

despite a well in advance preorder Amazon UK is now telling me that it won’t be available until the middle of may – despite it orginially showing as 1st April. They were nice and refunded the shipping though though and a collegue got a £5 voucher….guess we have to wait a little while longer this side of the pond 🙁

Indeed you are correct so apologies – the latest book is one heck of a tome at more than 1390 pages.
I hope Nate Weiss was just too busy doing something else and nothing more serious.
    Can’t wait to Ray’s explanation however 🙂
    Regards,
    PT

Peter, actually, it is closer 1800 pages, but we could not bind that much, so the final section is all on the CD. It was either that or go to an extra volume (which I did not want to do).
As for Ray’s e-mail address, well, maybe he just does not want to be bugged? 😉 (j/k)

I saw a copy at the Rockefeller Center Barnes & Noble last week in New York. Perhaps it’s already in stores?
