The Value of Creative Hobbies

Home » The Value of Creative Hobbies

Creativity is an essential human trait, and we are all creative, even though many of us have been taught to think otherwise. A recent Adobe blog post explores the importance of creative hobbies, particularly within the context of COVID-19 and the havoc is wrecked about our lives.

Creative hobbies have all sorts of benefits, from health to social to financial to educational to potentially future career impacting. And while creativity is often instinctively associated with art, design, drawing, and the like, I personally prefer Sir Ken Robinson’s definition of creativity as “the process of having original ideas that have value”, with an emphasis on “original”.

Actually, my upcoming book, Captain Code, was created to address this exact need, creativity and creative problem solving via coding.

Check out the blog post for creative hobbies ideas, including some that you may not have thought of as creative.
