I missed cool tool Friday, but I am posting this from my new toy and just had to share …
Yesterday I took delivery of a new computer, an IBM IntelliStation A Pro. This baby is a dual-CPU AMD 64bit Opteron 248 2.2GHz (with 1MB L2 Cache), 3 GB RAM, 80GB SCSI HDD, NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100 video, Gigabit Ethernet, more USB and firewire ports than I’d know what to do with, oh, and dual flat panel monitors.
I’ve never owned an AMD powered box before, but thus far … wow, this thing flies!
I am running 32bit Windows XP on it now, so not utilizing the power of 64bit yet, but I will.
Now to install ColdFusion on it to see how it performs. Oh, and Dreamweaver too (loading Dreamweaver is always a good performance test).
More to follow, I am off to play.
