Back Up From New Home

Home » Back Up From New Home

The sites are back up. As DNS changes can take a while to propagate, I have the old server redirecting to a temporary host name. Aside from that, the move seems to have gone painlessly (too painlessly?).
I have always self hosted, I was involved with a start-up and had access to a dedicated data center. But that start-up has now sold, and so it was time for me to move to real hosting. My new home is at HostMySite (http://hostmysite.com/), they have been incredibly helpful and dedicated, and went the extra step to make the transition, well, painless.
I’m still testing everything. If you notice any problems, please let me know. Thanks.

Yes, Stoneage was acquired by AutoByTel.

    To whom it may concern:
Please, I am in desperate need to understand the workings of designing with cfmx.
Exactly what does the following statement mean(please fee free to assume absolute ignorance).
The Developer edition is free but limited to access from localhost and one remote IP address.
I am a freelance web designer creating static web pages – and am looking into building dynamic, database driven web pages.
    Thank you so much,
    sincerely,

Tina, it means that the Developer’s Edition is all you need to write and test your own ColdFusion applciations, but that it won’t be of any use to actually run your programs for users to get to, for that you’ll beed a full version (or an ISP running a full version).

I’m sure you get this question a lot.
How is HostMySite doing for you? I do some pretty advanced stuff involving transactions.. I do not need a faulty host. I need a host that promises and can serve good features. (My current host blames everything on my code and then finds the problem to be their fault.).
I’m sure the site emails you error reports.. do you ever get "null null" or "No more data available to read" relating to CFQUERY?

Tony, actually, so far the service has been just about perfect. There were a few gotchas getting things set up, but since then no problems at all.
I should also note that I am doing dedicated hosting, not shared hosting.
