This is quite the compliment. UK IT Magazine, The Register, has proclaimed that my “Sams Teach Yourself SQL in 10 Minutes has established itself as the gold standard for introductory SQL books”, and is recommending both that book and my new “Sams Teach Yourself Regular Expressions in 10 Minutes”. Story at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/05/04/10_minutes_for_a_new_skill/. Thanks to Dan Alig for bringing this to my attention. (FYI, links to both books are at http://www.forta.com/books/).

  1. Oh, you meant *your* SQL book, not a book on MySQL. 🙂
Congratulations, everyone I’ve talked to that has it says that its great. Getting a copy sent to me as we speak.

  2. It’s a must have, for any sql junkie.
I am just waiting to see it at a store so i can buy the new Sams Teach Yourself Regular Expressions.
    I can’t wait to parse some…
    🙂

  3. Well-deserved acclamations for both excellent books. I’ve long recommended the SQL book in the same way, and heartily do so now with the RegExp book as well. Two classics. Congrats, Ben.

  4. I second that! I have the book since it’s first revision and I bought an e-book version (at Ebooks.com) last week. Only 10 bucks. It’s very worthy.
