IBM is previewing the upcoming release of DB2, codenamed Stinger. This release boast significant speed enhancements, self-tuning databases, the ability to write stored procedures in .NET languages, Java type-4 drivers included, improved mirroring and redundancy features, a new DB2 Express aimed at small business, and more.     i think its great to see more competition in the db market, especially targeting big time players like oracle. ive recently begun digging into the benefits of mysql and cant believe I haven’t done it sooner. im afraid db2 will be out of my price range much the same as oracle, but nevertheless will still spur other companies to stay competitive
