Hello From Snowy, Antiquated LaGuardia

I am in LaGuardia airport, delayed because of the snow storm. I can handle that, and the fact that anywhere to buy food is closed. What ticks me off is no high-speed Internet access, and not enough phone lines for dial-up. Another airport that the 21st century passed by?

I feel for ya, man. Phoenix Sky Harbor is even worse. We don’t even have modem jacks on our payphones! What’s up with that? There’s a $tarbucks at the airport but no T-Mobile hotspot. I don’t get it…
Thank God for the Treo 600!

LaGuardia is an old airport… Man, last time I’ve been in NY I´ve spent 14 hours waiting for a connection in this claustrophobic place.
    Hope you survive 😉

I guess I really don’t feel sorry Ben, sorry for that 😉 You’re flying all around the world and all I do is read about it on your blog sitting behind my desk here in Holland hahaha 🙂

One of a billion reasons why, when flying in for an event in NJ, you should always fly into Newark. 😉
Fantastic presentation yesterday, btw. Thanks for braving the snowstorm (and LaGuardia) for us "Joisey" folks.

My travel frequency is nothing compared to yours Ben, but on my way to and from Sydney, I experienced how difficult it is to get a decent Internet connection on any airport. Even if you had an account with some provider, their presence is not assured at every airport…
As far as I know, the only airports providing free wi-fi are Pittsburgh and Richmond Internationals. I certainly hope some others follow in the near future.

Great seen you at the AT&T Central Jersey CF user group conference in snowy New Jersey yesterday. Thanks for the effort in joining us at the conference. Sorry for the snow and unexpected traffic – I hope you made it in time to the Airport and hopefully to Chicago.
It took me 2.5 hours to make back to Northern NJ(from Somerset). It was worth the trip. Excellent presentation – loved every minute.

Michael, getting home was not fun. It took 3.5 hours to get to LGA, and then my flight left at around midnight, I got home after 2:00 am.
But I am glad you found the trip worthwhile. 🙂

Laurie, I was going to fly into EWR, but the trip to LGA was $250 and EWR was over $1K! Save 20 miles each way and pay 4 times the price? Ugh! I’d not do that to Macromedia.
Glad you liked the presentation, I’ll have to come by again.
