Red Traffic Light? Click, Now It's Green

Sounds impossible, but some traffic lights can indeed be manipulated remotely. Originally designed for emergency vehicle use, control is now available to all via a $300 device called the MIRT ( allowing drivers to change red lights to green in 2 to 3 seconds from more than 1500 feet away. And as per The Detroit News (, this device is for real and is actually useable on some local traffic lights. And, for now, it appears to be perfectly legal too!
