Flash Pro Forms Bug

Home » Flash Pro Forms Bug

The new Flash Professional forms interface is a highly intuitive and usable alternative to the timeline that so many of us coders fear and loathe. Forms are screens that are displayed and hidden as needed, and forms are created and managed in a hierarchical tree view within Flash Professional. But when manipulating forms watch out for this bug: if you move forms within the tree you may lose some of the data bindings in that form. Until this bug is fixed, move forms with care (or not at all).

Yep the forms interface is something I was really excited about. However using this setup has its downfalls. One major issue is how to preload a SWF that is using the Form metaphor?

_lockRoot on the SWF using another SWF to loadingMovieNum into _level1?

This is not to do with Forms, but the implementation of Data Binding; the same thing happens when you put bound components in ordinary movieclips and move them around.
