Using CF Enterprise’s System Probes feature you can easily monitor the health of your application’s data sources – all at once. Simple create a page that does a simple query against every defined data source, one after the other (so as to not impact performance, make it a query that returns no data). Wrap all the queries in a / block, and output only the words SUCCESS or FAILURE. Then create a Default Probe using that page, and specify SUCCESS as the text to look for. If any data source starts throwing errors you’ll know immediately, and you could ever takes steps to rectify the situation. (Applies to: ColdFusion 5 Enterprise)
