Hello from Japan! I arrived in Tokyo a few hours ago and am now back online. I had forgotten just how far Narita airport is from Tokyo, sitting on a bus for close to 2 hours after a l-o-n-g flight is no fun. I vote for airport relocation!
I love bumping into .cfm extensions on sites that I had no idea were using ColdFusion. My latest find is NEC-Mitsubishi (at http://www.necmitsubishi.com/). I was reviewing monitor specs (for a new LCD monitor) and discovered that almost the entire site is ColdFusion; product specs, company info,...
One of the Dreamweaver "features" that us CFers complained loudly about was the need to define a site to be able to do anything. Unlike ColdFusion Studio which allowed you to browse an FTP or RDS connection for files, Dreamweaver required that a local site be created and that edits be made locally...
ColdFusion has integrated debugging features, and has for a long time. Most CF developers rely heavily on ColdFusion's ability to append debug output to generated pages, and tags like and and are also used when debugging code. cfstat and PerfMon integration provide some visibility into the CF...

I'll be speaking to the Japan ColdFusion User Group in Tokyo on September 17th, and to the UKCFUG in London on September 24th. Details of both events will be posted to my home page as soon as I have them. If you're in either neighborhood, drop by.
My "Windows 2000 Developer's Guide" (IDG 0764546538) was translated into Chinese, and I have started receiving regular requests from Chinese readers asking for the book page URL. I have not seen a copy yet to know what URL is in it or why the listed one apparently is not working, but for those...
Did that title catch your attention? It did mine too. I happened upon that headline while skimming the WSJ this morning, it's at the top left of the first page of the Marketplace section. It turns out they are discussing Cold Fusion (as opposed to ColdFusion), but still, the next time anyone starts...
I am a night person, the wee hours are when I get most inspired. Here's a regular expression I wrote last night, um, make that this morning. It matches an IP address, and also ensures that the values are within the allowed range (0-255)....
