MySQL Administrator is a powerful GUI for managing MySQL servers. It can be used to configure databases and tables, manage users, run backups, view logs, and even monitor server health. MySQL has needed this badly, and the alpha of this tool can now be downloaded from http://www.mysql.com/downloads/administrator.html. Details are at http://www.mysql.com/products/administrator/index.html (look at the screenshots on that page). If you use MySQL then you'll definitely want to grab a copy.

yeah, but mysql-front is no longer in active development. I've started using a combination of mysql-front for data xfer and mysql-cc for user management and table management.
this app will be a welcome addition to the toolbox.

Just as an FYI, mysql-front has been out for a while and is a darn nice GUI. It has some pretty slick options too - like exporting a table to XML or an HTML file (great for quick reports).

We went through all of the free mySql tools and came around to a tool that is shareware (registers for $99) called Navicat (also known as MySQL Studio). It is fantastic! http://www.navicat.com. Don't be fooled by how simple the admin interface is. It's a fantastic tool for admin of mysql databases, data transfer between them, etc. Backup/restore is amazingly easy to multiple formats.

Matte,
That's not true anymore. MySQL-front is back in development...

It's been released for version 3... with support for MySQL 4.1. As you'll see, the latest version was released yesterday. However, you'll also notice it's no longer free ($25 US).
