Legendary Kronk Gets An Online Facelift, Courtesy Of Our Own Cornel Ivanescu

Kronk is the name of Detroit’s world-renowned boxing team. Kronk’s humble beginnings emerged from the basement of Detroit’s Kronk Recreation Center in the early 1970’s, under the guidance of the legendary boxing trainer and manager, Emanuel Steward. But Kronk has run into rough times and has been threatened with closure, and the community has been trying to find ways to keep the gym open.
Enter Cornel Ivanescu, manager of Dearborn MMUG, and organizer of last year’s Powered By Detroit. As reported by Boxing News, Cornel’s company, Urban Verve, has created a new online presence for Kronk Boxing Gym (built using ColdFusion, of course), and also sponsored a fundraiser to benefit both the gym and the Emanuel Stewart Foundation.
Way to go, Cornel!
