2012 PhoneGap And Windows Phone 8
Jesse MacFadyen has provided an update on the status of PhoneGap support for Windows Phone 8. The bottom line? There's a release candidate, and official support should come in version 2.3.0 due out the first week of January.
2012 Presenting Apache Flex
Whoa, I can't believe this one slipped by me. Apache Flex is out on incubation, and is now a Top-Level Project. The formal vote by the Apache Software Foundation Board occurred on December, 19th 2012. Apache Flex is still on the Apache Incubator site, but that should change shortly. Congrats to the team on this milestone!
2012 Web Platform Doc Sprint Coming To Berlin
I've mentioned WebPlatform.org before, this is an open community of developers building resources for a better web, regardless of brand, browser or platform. Adobe is very involved in this project, as are other industry leaders, and lots of individual developers.
2012 HTC One X+ Weirdness
The HTC One X+ is my favorite smartphone (for the time being). It's an incremental improvement over the One X (which as previously noted I am a fan of), and it is fast, and lightweight, the screen is perfect, the battery life is good, HTC Sense is useful and lightweight ... all in all it really is a superb phone.
It's also been a source of frustration as of late, in that every once in a while it will stop receiving phone calls. And although in truth I am using my phone less and less as, well, a phone, not being able to receive calls is a problem.
