2011 Liz Frederick's New Role
The Adobe evangelism and community teams love telling the world about our products, but it sometimes feels like we spend more time talking to our best and most loyal friends than we do the bigger developer and designer universe. And so we're launching a program to get the word out to other communities, including those focused on Java, PHP, and Android. And I'm really excited that our own Liz Frederick has agreed to head up this program, as she announced on the Community Kitchen today.

I mentioned the PolitiFact app a couple of days ago. Quick update: The iOS version is now available. And yes, it is the exact same Flex codebase as the Android version.

I'm a big fan of PolitiFact, the Pulitzer Prize winning political fact checking site. PolitiFact has released an app so you can check on the latest reviews and rankings from your favorite device. The Android app has already been released, the iOS and BlackBerry PlayBook versions will be available shortly. And the best part? The apps were built in Flash Builder using a single Flex codebase by a single developer (part time, by the way) in just three weeks! Really!

The AIR team has just announced the availability of AIR 2.7. Improvements include AIR apps for iOS rendering up to 4x faster in CPU mode, app installation on SD cards for Android devices, acoustic echo cancellation, and more.
