Flash Player 10.1 For Android Out Of Beta

Flash Player 10.1 for Android has been in beta on the Android Marketplace for a while, but today we released the final version, and it's available for:

  • Google Nexus One - Download from Android Market
  • HTC Evo 4G - Included with the Android 2.2 update from HTC
  • HTC Desire - Included with the Android 2.2 update from HTC
  • Motorola DROID 2 - Devices ship with Flash Player 10.1 pre-installed
In addition to Android, mobile platforms including Web OS, BlackBerry, MeeGo, LiMo, a future version of Windows Phone 7 and others will deliver support for Flash Player 10.1 over the coming months. Many of the new devices are expected to come pre-installed with full Flash.

Yep, Flash will indeed be available for the original Droid. I don't have a date yet though. Stay tuned.

Getting a bit confused by all the different versions floating around at the moment.

I downloaded Android 2.2 about a week ago and http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html reports my Desire as having AND 10,1,72,7 for it's Flash version. I assume that's the latest version.

If I want to develop native Air applications for this version of Flash I need the AIR 2.5 SDK, is that right?

To develop AIR 2.5 apps I need FlashBuilder 4, is that right?

Is there a summary anywhere of what version of what you need to start app development for Flash on Android?

Brian, AIR for devices is not publicly available yet, Flash is.

Hi, just wondering if there'll be a flash for Droid X. It's funny bcz Apple refuses to put flash on any of its devices,
but my son downloaded a browser, Cloud Browse, on his ipod. Lo and behold, he has full flash on his device.
His friend's the one who told him about it, and told him to get it fast before it's pulled. When I googled Cloud
Browse, sure enough, it's no longer offered. It is frustrating to see his 2year old ipod pulling up pages that my
Droid X could not.
