PCWorld Reports Flash Mobile Announcements Roundup

PC World is running a story entitled Flash Headed to Mobile Devices Say Manufacturers on the Flash (and AIR) related announcements coming out of Mobile World Congress this week.

Among the announcements was one about Flash on the Palm Pre, which is fast becoming the phone I want next (assuming they release a GSM version in the U.S., which unfortunately is not at all clear right now).

Comments
I am still waiting for Flash for the iPhone.

You are? Huh, I wonder why no one else has mentioned that one! ;-)

Not trying to come off as sarcastic, but why the Palm Pre as your next phone. We've seen how you go through phones so what attracts you to this one? Software, hardware, usability?

Precia, the Plam Pre seems to come closest the best of all worlds. iPhone type interaction and screen, yet with a full QWERTY keyboard (I hate iPhone's virtual keyboard), and a clean and easy way to build apps. Pretty compelling to me. But, yes, you are right. I keep thinking I have found my next phone only to be disappointed or find another candidate. The never ending pursuit! ;-)

Won't you be tethered to Sprint's billing?

Correct. Which is why I said "assuming they release a GSM version in the U.S.". If they don't I may have to get an unlocked one from Europe.
